Balcony/Patio Install Guide

Step 1: Measure Out

The first step to installing is to calculate how much grass you need. We'd recommend appoximately 0.2m overlap at each edge.

For a detailed guide please see our measuring guide.

Step 2: Prepare the area

The surface should be free from any dirt and loose debris. Clear the area by brushing with a stiff brush.

If installing on concrete or paving, ensure that there are no large indentations which cause water to pool. Artificial grass is not generally dammaged by water, but being submerged in water for long periods can cause the issues. If required, you can fill any holes with an outdoor surface screed.

Install directly on surface

PROs: The fastest, cheapest and easiest option. Minimises any 'step up' caused by the height of the grass.

CONs: Harder feel. Less cushioning. Can wear slightly quicker.

Recommended for: Temporary installations. Visual improvements to patios, decking & balconies.

Install over a shockpad underlay

PROs: Softer, more cushioned feel.

CONs: More expensive and complex to install. Increases the height of the grass.

Recommended for: Those who want a more realistic, cushioned feel to their artificial grass.
